The Chong Yang
Festival falls on the
9th day of the ninth lunar month, so it is also called
Double-Ninth Festival.

activities on Chong Yang
Festival

high mountains. It is said
that climbing mountain

diseases and
misfortunes
could be
prevented.
Chrysanthemum is the
flower of
longevity and

the festival. It is

friends on this holiday.
On the festival

and disarsters
away.
Chinese has
the fine tradition to respect
the aged. Nine in

jiu' which has the
same pronunciation
as δΉ… which means
long (
longevity), so in
recent years,
Chong Yang
Festival is set as the
formal holiday for the old - the
Senior's Day, a time to show respect for
the elderly, and to wish them good
health,
happiness and long life.
